  • Current Level - Large display showing instantaneous SPL in dB
  • Peak Level - Maximum level recorded since last reset
  • Leq - Equivalent continuous sound level (energy average)
  • Lmax/Lmin - Maximum and minimum levels recorded
  • L10, L50, L90 - Statistical percentile levels

Frequency Weighting

  • Flat (Z) - No adjustment, for equipment testing
  • A-Weighting (dBA) - Human hearing approximation, OSHA compliance
  • C-Weighting (dBC) - Less low-frequency reduction, peak measurements

Time Weighting

  • Fast (125 ms) - Quick response for dynamic sounds
  • Slow (1 second) - Smoothed response for steady noise
  • Impulse (35 ms rise) - Special response for impact sounds

Data Logging

  • 0.1 second intervals - Up to 8 hours, high-resolution
  • 1 second intervals - Up to 72 hours, standard logging
  • 10 second intervals - Up to 2 weeks, long-term monitoring

Max Levels Meter

Threshold monitoring with traffic light indicators

The Max Levels Meter provides threshold-based monitoring with visual traffic light indicators. Perfect for live event monitoring, venue compliance checking, and real-time level management.

Traffic Light System

  • Green - Levels within acceptable limits
  • Yellow - Approaching threshold limit (warning)
  • Red - Threshold exceeded, action required

Monitoring Bands

  • Overall Level - Full frequency range monitoring
  • Band 1 - Configurable low-frequency band (e.g., 20Hz - 200Hz)
  • Band 2 - Configurable high-frequency band (e.g., 2kHz - 20kHz)

Recommended Settings

  • Venue Compliance - Local ordinance limit, warning 3-6 dB below
  • Hearing Protection - 85 dBA limit, 82 dBA warning
  • Live Concert - 105 dBA limit, 100 dBA warning
  • Corporate Event - 85 dBA limit, 80 dBA warning

Noise Dosimeter

OSHA/NIOSH-compliant occupational noise exposure

The Noise Dosimeter measures cumulative noise exposure for occupational health and safety compliance. It calculates noise dose, projected 8-hour exposure, and Time-Weighted Average (TWA) per OSHA and NIOSH standards.

Key Measurements

  • Dose % - Cumulative exposure as percentage of daily allowable
  • Projected Dose - Estimated 8-hour dose based on current exposure
  • TWA - Time-Weighted Average in dB(A)
  • Leq - Equivalent continuous level
  • Lmax/Lpeak - Maximum and peak instantaneous levels

Criterion Levels

  • OSHA PEL - 90 dB with 5 dB exchange rate
  • OSHA Action Level - 85 dB with 5 dB exchange rate
  • NIOSH REL - 85 dB with 3 dB exchange rate
  • ACGIH TLV - 85 dB with 3 dB exchange rate

Dose Status

  • 0-50% (Green) - Safe exposure
  • 50-100% (Yellow) - Approaching limit
  • >100% (Red) - Overexposure, action required

Spectrum Analyzer (RTA)

Octave and 1/3 octave band analysis

The Real-Time Analyzer (RTA) provides frequency-based audio analysis using octave and 1/3 octave band measurements. Essential for room acoustics assessment, HVAC noise evaluation, and audio system tuning.

Analysis Modes

  • Octave - 10 bands for quick assessment and NC/NR ratings
  • 1/3 Octave - 31 bands for detailed analysis and problem identification

NC (Noise Criteria) Curves

  • NC-15 to NC-20 - Recording studios, concert halls
  • NC-25 to NC-30 - Private offices, conference rooms
  • NC-30 to NC-35 - Open offices, libraries
  • NC-35 to NC-40 - Lobbies, corridors
  • NC-40 to NC-45 - Computer rooms, kitchens

Additional Reference Curves

  • NR (Noise Rating) - International standard curves
  • RNC (Room Noise Criteria) - Improved criteria for low frequencies
  • SIL (Speech Interference Level) - Communication impact assessment
